Caroline Ellison, 29, a key prosecution witness in the fraud trial of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday for her role in the collapse of the crypto currency exchange.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan praised her “remarkable” cooperation during the investigation and fraud trial over the collapse of FTX collapse, and she will be able to serve at a minimum-security facility. Still, the judge said that a “get out of jail free card” would be inappropriate for such a serious case. Ellison, who worked as CEO at FTX-linked hedge fund Alameda Research, was also ordered to forfeit $11 billion.

In remarks before the judge delivered the sentencing, Ellison said she wants to apologize to victims who lost money and “not a day goes by that I don’t think about all of the people I hurt.”

As if two years in jail is not enough after basically being the one that put SBF in jail, she also must forfeit about US$11B.
