Here’s a made-for-TV drama we’d like to see: Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried sharing a prison cell with Changpeng Zhao, who is now former CEO of crypto exchange Binance!

That’s a (theoretical) possibility in the wake of CZ’s guilty plea on Tuesday to a charge of violating money-laundering laws. CZ, as he is known, resigned as CEO. And according to Bloomberg, he faces as long as 10 years in prison but is expected to get 18 months. We don’t yet know how long SBF—convicted earlier this month of seven charges of fraud and conspiracy—will serve. He’ll be sentenced next year. 

Even so, it’s fun to imagine what the two would talk about if they found themselves in the same prison (let alone the same cell). Perhaps they’ll reminisce about old times, including that day a year ago CZ announced he would sell all of Binance’s holdings of FTX’s token, FTT, sparking a run on FTX. We all know what happened next!
