I think you can always build game economy without the blockchain, but what seems most compelling to me is that by using NFTs you standardize it. And as a result, you are basically selling your game on Opensea or any other marketplace, immediately reaching millions of MAU and with out of the box presence on social media. And their incentives are aligned with yours
