After its early surge to a new ATH (barely), bitcoin prices retreated and the cryptocurrency was trading at less than $64,000 late in the day. 

Most other popular cryptocurrencies are nowhere near their all-time highs. Ether, for example, peaked today at around $3,800, which is about 22% down from the high of more than $4,891 it reached in 2021. The market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies, which on Tuesday was around $2.47 trillion, is also much lower than the $3 trillion it crossed in 2021.

Anyone owning Coinbase stock will have to wait a little longer to see shares of that company reach their 2021 high again. Shares closed today at less than $217, roughly 36% down from where they traded when bitcoin peaked back then.
