Hong Kong's fintech sector continues to be all agog about the potential prospects of stablecoins, two weeks after the city's lawmakers passed a bill that establishes a regulatory regime for these digital assets. 

The stablecoin ordinance, which will take effect on August 1, requires companies issuing stablecoins to obtain a licence from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and comply with a broad range of requirements.
