They have some interesting features worth paying for but it seems that the real value takes a lot of upfront investment to unlock, which is a hurdle for current consumer sensibilities

Have to read more about it. But general search engine is hard IMO, doubt you can beat Google. And don’t think people would switch just for the privacy reason. If can get paid for data though, maybe would be incentivized
